Reaching out for counselling is a big step towards taking control of a pain point in your life. Once you’ve made the decision to have professional therapy, great, now what do you do?

You can look on the various directories for qualified counsellors in your area, you will find thousands of profiles that you can browse through and that can be overwhelming. Who do you choose? Someone you like the look of? Someone with a long list of qualifications? Someone who is local to you or someone who works online from anywhere in the UK? What about someone who is cheaper than others in the area? Or someone who works specifically with the main reason you would like to have counselling?

All of these are valid, you may feel drawn to someone in particular or you may abandon the search and ask a friend for recommendations.

  7. I am registered as a Covid-conscious therapist with wide awareness around how the pandemic has affected, and still continues to affect, individuals and communities.
